November 1 – Everton Women have brought in Jean-Luc Vasseur as their manager in a two-and-a-half-year deal to lift the team’s fortunes. The Frenchman, wh football investment o guided Lyon to Champions League victory in 2019 but was sacked in April after a barren campaign, will succeed Willie Kirk at Everton. Kirk was dismissed after a poor start to the season.“I’ve come here to write new history with Everton and to win titles,” said Vasseur (pictured). “We have a lot of talent and resources so I think there is good capacity to improve. I have the ambition to build a team that can achieve Champions League qualification. We have to be patient and fight to win.”In the 2019/20 season, UEFA voted him the women’s coach of the year after he won the Champions League, French league, Coupe d e France, Trophée des Championnes and Women’s International Champions Cup with Lyon.It’s the first time that the 52-year-old will coach abroad. He previously had stints at Créteil, Reims, Pari football finance s FC and Châteauroux.“We wanted a proven winner and he has won numerous titles,” said Everton’s women’s sporting and commercial director Sarvar Ismailov. “We also wanted someone with DNA which matches our club’s – someone with an att soccer money management acking vision, who fights until the end.”In the Women’s Super League, Everton currently sit in eighth position.
